Lights, Camera, Action for Nottingham Based Electrical Firm

Breedon Electrical Services was tasked with assisting gardening legend Alan Titchmarsh in brightening up a young burn victim’s garden in front of millions of TV viewers on ITV’s Love Your Garden.

The Nottingham based electrical firm provided both the power and lighting, in addition to installing the armoured cables and a fuse board in one of Alan Titchmarsh’s largest ever garden summerhouses, which could house the seven-member Sawford family in Bilborough.

Six years ago, Emma and Kyle Sawford’s eight-year-old daughter Tilly was severely scalded in a domestic accident and the team from the ITV show, which aired on July 5, got to work to transform the family’s run down garden in to an accessible and practical garden that the whole family could enjoy.

Ben Tooms, director at Breedon Electrical Services said:

“We were absolutely delighted to be a part of this garden transformation with Alan Titchmarsh to help give this family their dream garden.

“After hearing how brave Tilly has been and how inspirational her story is, we wanted to do anything and everything we could to give her a garden that she could enjoy. The summerhouse really is spectacular.”

The team faced difficult weather conditions throughout the four-day project with Ben and an engineer from Breedon Electrical Services also pitching in to help with arranging garden furniture.

It was all worth it in the end as the final garden consisted of a giant summerhouse, a sundial and a trampoline that was placed in the ground for easy access for Tilly.

Before the closing credits, a video clip showed Tilly and her mum thanking Alan Titchmarsh and the Love Your Garden team, and showed the Sawford family enjoying their new garden.

Breedon Electrical Services has been growing from strength to strength in the past twelve months specialising in electrical installations and maintenance for new builds, schools and commercial properties.

Ben added:

“This project was slightly different to our usual large scale commercial, school and new build projects but it showed the versatility of our team and that we are not afraid to showcase our work in front on the biggest audiences.

"We were thrilled with the opportunity and hope that Tilly and her family really enjoy their new garden.”
