Leicestershire’s road, rail and air transport strategies on show

Businesses from across Leicester and Leicestershire are being invited to attend a special breakfast event that will look at high-level transport strategies affecting the Leicester and Leicestershire area.

The breakfast event, being organised by the Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership (LLEP) is taking place on Thursday 26th May at City Hall in Leicester.

Businesses will hear about Leicestershire’s new Rail Strategy; the part that Leicester and Leicestershire plays in the ‘Midlands Connect’ transport strategy (which is looking at major infrastructure changes needed to improve the connectivity across the region) as well as the development plans for East Midlands Airport – the UK’s second largest cargo airport.

Nick Pulley, LLEP Chair said

“We have opted to run this business breakfast with a ‘transport strategies’ theme and have opened it up to businesses that might be interested in hearing how emerging road, rail and air plans could affect their businesses.

“Our goal is to work with our partners to make positive changes and to grow our economy. In the field of transport, this might be making domestic and international freight distribution better to help exporting and importing of goods, easing journey times or improving the ways people enter, leave or get around the area for business, work or leisure, for example.

“We would like to see businesses with a particular interest in transport or distribution and logistics to attend and see how plans are shaping up and how we as a LEP (Local Enterprise Partnership), intend to work with our partners to effect and champion improvements for Leicester and Leicestershire.”

There is limited availability at this event. Anyone wishing to attend should register here: https://transportbreakfast.eventbrite.co.uk as soon as possible. More details are also available through this link.
