Global Household Appliance Manufacturer Opens New Flagship HQ in West Midlands

A global household appliance developer and manufacturer with a €3billion annual turnover has opened its flagship UK head office in the West Midlands ahead of its latest global product launch in June.

Vorwerk UK, headquartered in Wuppertal, Germany, opened a 1,700 square foot office in Balsall Common, Solihull yesterday (25 April), next door to the Heart of England school.
The company, which manufactures household electrical items including vacuum cleaners and kitchen appliances, will use the office as a base to recruit and train a team of field-based Product Advisors ahead of launching its latest VK200 vacuum cleaner model in the UK market in June.
Vorwerk UK counts Channel 4 ‘Obsessive, Compulsive Cleaners’ star Hayley Leitch – who attended the office launch on 26 April - amongst its brand ambassadors, and is looking to create over 20 new jobs and additional employment opportunities across the West Midlands and the wider area as it continues its expansion across the UK.

Eric McClenaghan, former Chief Executive and owner of the UK division of global direct selling cosmetics company Oriflame, will oversee the launch of the company’s VK200 vacuum cleaner in the UK and will head up team recruitment and development for the UK sales force.
He said:
“Balsall Common is ideally located in the centre of the country with convenient access to Coventry and Birmingham as well as further afield, and our dedicated training room that accommodates 50 people will help to support our ambitious growth plans.
“We are looking to establish a pioneering team of Product Advisors across the Midlands to help us deliver the UK launch of the new VK200 in June, and I’m confident that the flexible working patterns we offer will appeal to those who need to fit work around other commitments.”
