Foster Industrial Shines Bright at Welding Awards

Celebrating its 130th birthday this year, Shepshed based Foster Industrial has been crowned Best Welding Distributor at the prestigious Welding World Awards.
Foster Industrial is the UK's longest established distributor of welding and cutting equipment and supplies. Based on Gelders Hall Road, Foster employs 20 people and fought off tough competition from the UK’s leading industry names to secure the win.
Their award was presented by The Right Honourable Michael Portillo at a glittering event held in Birmingham - the first ever welding industry awards - attended by a team of six from Foster Industrial including its Joint Managing Directors, great grandsons of the founder of the firm.

The awards were judged by a panel of industry experts including President of the Association of Welding Distributors (AWD), John Wilkinson OBE. There were only eight awards in total, as well as winning one, Foster Industrial were finalists in two other categories.
Adrian Hawkins, Director of AWD and one of the judges, commented: “Foster Industrial has established a 130-year history and their longevity is a lasting testimony to the level of service and quality of products they provide to their customers. They are an entirely appropriate selection for the winner of the "Best Welding Distributor". We are delighted that Foster alongside many others have supported our inaugural Welding World Awards programme and we congratulate them for their success in winning this award.”
Richard Foster, Joint Managing Director, said the award was well deserved recognition for the whole team.
“We have made considerable investments in the business over the last few years, with a view to expanding our reach in the region and putting our brand firmly in front of manufacturers across the East Midlands. None of this would have been possible without the commitment of our sales and support team, so this award is as much a testament to their hard work as anything.”
As well as being named the Best Welding Distributor, Foster Industrial were finalists in two other categories: Best Gas Agent and Best E-Commerce Website. Richard Foster added,
“We couldn’t be happier that our efforts across the business have been recognised in this way.”
