RADLEIGH MARKS ITS RETURN TO DERBY’S CITY LIVING MARKET AT WEAVERS POINT

Leading Midlands housebuilder Radleigh Homes has marked its return to Derby's city living market with the launch of an exciting new scheme that will occupy an unrivalled position on the edge of the Cathedral Quarter.

Work is now well underway on Radleigh Homes' exclusive new Weavers Point development on Lodge Lane, which will offer homebuyers a unique opportunity to experience contemporary city living of the highest quality.

The complex will comprise of 35 luxury apartments, each containing two spacious double bedrooms, and two bathrooms (one of which is en suite), with generous living spaces, high quality finishes and contemporary styling throughout. Weavers Point has the added security of a gated courtyard with secure car parking facilities as well as a cycle store.

Its proximity to the city centre make it perfect for anyone who wants to fully embrace the city-living lifestyle and enjoy Derby's thriving daytime and night economy in the Cathedral Quarter, which is just a stone's throw away.

Since the resurgence of city living during the early 2000s, the name Radleigh has become synonymous with Derby's high quality city living locations.

The company's return to this significant market sector has been a strategic one. The Weaver's Point site on Willow Row is an area steeped in the history of the cotton mills that were built in the Derwent Valley during the 18th century.

Commenting on the launch of the new scheme, Tom Finnegan, joint managing director of Radleigh Homes, said:

"We are delighted to be making our mark on the city living market once again. Weavers Point is set to contribute to the vitality of the city centre and provide a housing choice to people in the city centre that is currently limited."

“The development presents a fantastic opportunity for anyone who enjoys the city-living lifestyle to live in a luxurious development with the hustle and bustle of Derby’s thriving economy on their doorstep.”

Weavers Point is supported by the Derby City Living Fund which was set up by Derby City Council to help accelerate the delivery of new residential housing developments, either through the conversion of existing building or as new-build schemes.

Cllr Martin Rawson, Deputy Leader of Derby City Council and Cabinet Member for Communities and City Centre Regeneration said:

“We wish Radleigh Homes every success with their Weavers Point development and hope it is the first of many such projects to benefit from involvement with our City Centre Living Initiative."

“Besides the physical regeneration of Derby, these homes will also bring new people, and a new vitality to our city centre.”

Radleigh Homes is committed to employing local contractors and general workforce and has already created more than 20 new job opportunities during the construction phase.

The apartments are due for completion in summer 2016.
