Howzat? Twelve not out as cleaning firm wins another contract with cricket club

CLEANING company OfficeCare has won a 12th consecutive contract with Derbyshire County Cricket Club to make sure its ground and facilities are not on a sticky wicket.

The deal will mean staff from the Pride Park based company will be on site 364 days a year providing cleaning services at the 3aaa County Ground in Derby.

This will involve cleaning the boardroom and offices, changing rooms, the catering and banqueting facilities, plus the nearby elite performance centre with its gym and indoor practice nets. All 5,000 seats will also be cleaned before the season starts in April.

OfficeCare's staff will also provide additional cleaning of toilets and extra emptying of litter bins on NatWest T20 Blast match days because they attract a higher crowd.

Martin Booth, managing director of OfficeCare, which is based on Victoria Way, said: “We are delighted that  we are Derbyshire County Cricket Club's cleaning partner again for the 2016 season.

“As a local company we love nothing better than supporting their growth by allowing their staff to concentrate on their day-to-day business rather than worrying about cleaning.”

OfficeCare is an official partner of the Club, with branding on the perimeter of the ground, match sponsorship, and member of the club's 1870s business club

The company's association with the club is not the longest for a sporting arena – it has been cleaning Derby County's stadium for 14 years. It also provides cleaning at Nottingham Greyhound Stadium as well as commercial buildings, educational establishments, surgeries and educational establishments across the East Midlands.

Martin added:

“This renewal is a product of the change that we have made as a company, with Nicky Fearn, our relationship manager taking control of the operations department to build closer working ties with customers and using technology such as our tracking system that tells us in real time staff attendance.”

Last year the company also re-branded its corporate identity to mark its 25th anniversary.

Ryan Duckett, commercial director of Derbyshire County Cricket Club, said:

"We are delighted to extend our partnership with OfficeCare for cleaning the home of Derbyshire cricket for another year.
OfficeCare's staff have done a great job for us for more than a decade. The partnership between our two organisations has grown and we look forward to developing this further over the next year as we complete the second phase of ground development."
