Former England and Leicester Tigers Captain, Martin Johnson MBE, opens new state-of-the-art sports clinic in Wigston, Leicester.

Last week saw the official launch of Function Jigsaw’s new clinic on Long Street in Wigston as sporting stars, clients, family and friends joined together to support the team in their new home – a state-of-the-art multidisciplinary gym and therapy clinic.

The new clinic is designed to compliment the expertise of Julie Hayton (Managing Director) and the team of specialist therapists as they piece together the ideal therapies to rehabilitate, enhance and maintain the performance of both sports professionals and health and fitness enthusiasts.

Julie has an impressive career behind her in sports therapy, including twelve years at Leicester Tigers as Head of the Medical Department and, through her talent and determination and with a generous helping of support from family and friends, Julie has now created a business to be proud of and one already gaining recognition in the sporting world. It was befitting that Julie handed the honours of the official opening over to ex-England and Leicester Tigers Captain, Martin Johnson MBE.

Martin explained, “I’ve known Jules for almost 16 years now and I couldn't walk when we first met through injuries. But within 2 weeks, Jules had me back playing again and so I owe her a great deal. It’s an honour to be asked to officially open the new Function Jigsaw clinic and its local for me, so that’s very convenient and I’ll certainly be calling in from time to time. Well done to Jules and the team and good luck for the future”.

Other sporting celebs in attendance included 2014 World Superbike Champion, Sylvian Guintoli; former England and Tigers star, Austin Healey; and, Tigers Head Coach, Richard Cockerill.

Julie said,“Tonight’s event is all about thanking those people who have supported me throughout the years so those who have been invited are all very special to Function Jigsaw. Their support throughout my career and in this venture has been fundamental to our success and with our new facilities in place, myself and the team are confident that we can help to support sports and fitness lovers to make the most of their capabilities.”

Function Jigsaw recently worked with the Argentinian and Canadian Rugby squads during last month’s Rugby World Cup and helped them prepare for their matches that were held at Leicester’s King Power Stadium. But, the clinic is not reserved for the elite; Julie and the team are dedicated to helping anyone who are passionate about their fitness and reaching their peak performance, whether it be a weekend golfer or an international rugby star – everyone can benefit from a little problem solving from the best in the business; and that’s where the team at Function Jigsaw come in.
