Ye Olde Flying Horse Romps to Auction Success

A former Kegworth pub was the highlight of a recent property auction held in Leeds.

Ye Olde Flying Horse on Church Gate sold for £319,000 when it went under the hammer at the Eddisons sale at Leeds United’s Elland Road stadium, making it the best performing lot of the day.

Robert Limbert, Associate Director and Auctioneer at Eddisons said: ‘This was the very first lot to be offered and meant the sale got off to a flying start.

‘The building enjoys a central position within the village and could suit a variety of alternative uses, subject to planning.’

In total Eddisons sold 29 (78.4%) of the 37 lots offered generating proceeds of nearly £3M.

Mr Limbert commented: ‘There was good bidding across all categories, with very little escaping the interest of investors and developers.’

Eddisons is now inviting instructions for its next Leeds auction taking place on 21 May.
