Partnership Celebrates its 20th Anniversary by Honouring Excellence in Local Business

ENTERPRISE agency Erewash Partnership is marking its 20th anniversary with a special one-off set of awards to honour and celebrate excellence in business.

Partnership celebrates its 20th anniversary by honouring excellence in local business

The awards will be presented at an anniversary dinner to be held at Trent College, Long Eaton, on October 17.

Guest speaker at the birthday bash will be television personality, author, and businesswoman Saira Khan, who was born in the town. She was runner-up on the first series of television programme The Apprentice in 2005 and co-presents The Martin Lewis Money Show.

The awards are open to any organisation in Erewash and the surrounding area regardless of size, and entrants can be nominated in more than one category.

A team of judges from the Partnership board, specialised staff and sponsors will evaluate the entries for the six awards. Three will be shortlisted with winners announced on the night.

The awards are:

  • Manufacturing Excellence, sponsored by TecQuipment.
  • Small Business, sponsored by Derwent Analytics. This is for firms established two years and employing up to 50 people.
  • Innovation, sponsored by the University of Derby.
  • Community Commitment, sponsored by Erewash Borough Council.
  • Investment in Education and Training, sponsored by Derby College.
  • The Geoffrey Nicholls Award(named after a former leading local industrialist and Partnership chairman), sponsored by Saint-Gobain PAM UK.  This winner will be selected from entrants to the other categories and have shown outstanding achievement over the last 10 years.

Ian Viles, chief executive of the Partnership, which helps regenerate the borough, said:

“We wanted to do something special to mark 20 years of the Partnership inspiring enterprise.

“This is a way of celebrating those organisations which have contributed to helping the local economy and making the area a better place in which to live and work.

“We look forward to receiving a host of good entries from organisations showing what they have achieved and perhaps even discovering some unknown gems.”

Closing date for entries is August 29. Full details of how to enter are available by checking the Partnership's website at www.erewash-partnership.com  which also gives information about how to reserve tickets for the dinner.
