Free Seminar Will Offer Advice on Financial Planning in Retirement

Those approaching and in retirement are invited to a free seminar in Nottingham city centre about how to manage their assets in retirement, organised by Nelsons Solicitors.

The seminar, which is aimed at people seeking advice about how to manage their money and affairs in retirement, will take place from 10am until noon on Monday, June 16 at Nottingham Contemporary on Weekday Cross.

The seminar will offer a number of practical steps to help prepare people to deal with their finances after retirement. Topics covered will include maximising your investments, inheritance tax planning and residential care fees.

Partner and solicitor Richard Grosberg of Nelsons Solicitors who will be leading the seminar said: “Financial management in old age is something that a lot of people worry about. A key concern is making sure that loved ones receive their inheritance intact, as well as how to budget for residential care, which can be quite costly.

“At the seminar we will discuss how to make or update wills and powers of attorney, discuss investment strategies to maximise income and protect capital and give advice about what would happen to property and savings if they have to move into residential care later in life.

“We will also cover inheritance tax planning, which will be of interest to people whose assets (added together if they are a couple) exceed £325,000.

“The seminar will be held in a relaxed and welcoming environment and I’d encourage anyone with worries or doubts about their financial situation in retirement to attend.”

Those who would like to attend the seminar, which is free of charge, should register their interest by contacting Zoe Sadler on 0115 989 5398 or emailing Zoe.Sadler@nelsonslaw.co.uk.
