MAHLE celebrates 75 new recruits in the last year

Wellingborough based engineering company MAHLE is celebrating growing its workforce over the last year. 75 new recruits mean staff numbers in Wellingborough have now risen to 310 with an additional 200 based in Northampton. The company has experienced significant growth over the past year, with new client wins as well as growth with existing clients.

MAHLE specialises in the manufacture of complex automotive engine components and the assembly and test of internal combustion engines. The increase in sales orders has allowed all departments of the business to grow, with the production line in particular recruiting more machine operators than ever before. As well as investing in new people, MAHLE has also invested heavily in new machinery and equipment across its three Wellingborough factories.

Mark Allman, Plant Manager at MAHLE says “Recruitment has been a key part of our growth in 2013, with people central to the success of the business. We are committed to investing in our people and strive to provide opportunities across the board, along with continued support and training.  We are very proud of what we have achieved at MAHLE and hope to continue this with our future growth plans in 2014 and beyond.”

With a strong commitment to investment in people, last year MAHLE created jobs for local people at all levels of the business. MAHLE is set to grow further in 2014 and is still looking to expand its workforce with vacancies available across all departments. An apprenticeship scheme is also set to launch later this year.
