Beer and Bratwurst set to tempt revellers at Derby’s inaugural Proptobier

Beer and Bratwurst set to tempt revellers at Derby’s inaugural Proptobier

Finishing touches are being put together ahead of a new Oktoberfest-style event in Derby which launches next month.

Organised by three leading East Midland’s businesses, the event will take place at the award-winning Bustler Market on 10th October.

And the occasion’s drinks supplier, Freedom Brewery, has confirmed a special ‘Proptobier’ beer will be on sale to tempt attendees. The firm is set to serve more than 1,800 litres of beer from across its range.

Announced earlier this year, it is hoped that Proptobier will become an annual event on the property and professional services calendar, offering serious business networking in a fun environment.

Law firm Smith Partnership has joined forces with civil and structural engineers BSP Consulting and leading brand agency Champions (UK) plc to create the event.

And with many home builders and property professionals in the region, it has all the makings of being a major success, said Smith Partnership’s business development executive Tom Erskine.

“This event promises to deliver something different to the East Midland’s networking calendar,” he said.

“Far from being stuck in dry and lifeless conference halls, we want to bring business discussion to life with the hustle and bustle of the market and beer and bratwurst to match.

“We’re inviting a host of professionals from across the Midlands to come and enjoy everything the inaugural Proptobier has to offer, as well as making some useful contacts along the way. Prost!”

Freedom Brewery will rebrand its Freedom Helles lager, an organic full-bodied beer, to ‘Proptobier’ in honour of the occasion.

“We’re really looking forward to giving Proptobier the beer it deserves,” added Rob Harrison, the firm’s business manager.

“And that is really due in part to our strong relations with Bustler Market. They were keen to work with a local, ethical brewery and we really ticked the boxes on all fronts, especially the taste.

“What I can promise is that guests will be getting a full-bodied beer, all served in authentic one-litre steins - and what could be better than that!”

Guests can sample what is on offer with a special beer tasting station as well as nibble on German delicacies such as bratwurst and currywurst, provided by Get Wurst, all while listening to a performance by the Bavarian Strollers, the UK’s premier oompah band.

Tickets for the event cost £45 and include a two-course meal and a litre of beer served in a traditional stein.
