School Children Grow with Miller Homes

Youngsters from a Leicestershire primary school have been getting green-fingered with Miller Homes to help create a ‘blooming’ lovely development.

The pupils from St Cuthbert’s Primary School in Great Glen left the classroom behind and swapped their desks for digging to plant trees and shrubs at the awarding-winning housebuilder’s Stretton Glen development.

Alastair Parsons, sales director at Miller Homes Midlands, said:

“The children showed great enthusiasm getting their hands dirty planting trees and shrubs. The excitement amongst the group was brilliant to see and they’ve really achieved something here at Stretton Glen by sprucing up the open green spaces even further.

Speaking after the planting session, Anne Burbidge, head teacher of St Cuthbert’s Primary School said:

“The children really enjoyed their morning out with Miller Homes and they’ve learnt valuable lessons about the environment and the importance of planting trees. Everyone was happy to get involved and it’s given them a great deal of pride to know their hard work will continue to grow for years and years.”
