Deloitte, the business advisory firm, has appointed Alistair Pritchard as Office Senior Partner of its Nottingham practice. Alistair, an audit partner who celebrates his 20th year at the firm this summer, takes on the role on 1 June 2016. In addition to overseeing Deloitte’s East Midlands operations, he will also retain his leadership role on the firm’s Travel, Hospitality and Leisure executive.
Alistair joined the Nottingham offices, based in Woodborough Road, nine years ago having spent the 11 previous years in Birmingham. Since then he has led on a number of significant projects for both new and existing clients; including some of the largest and most influential businesses in the region, as well as fast-growing start-ups and family businesses, for which the region is becoming increasingly renowned.
“The East Midlands region continues to perform strongly, contributing £95billion per year to the UK economy,” commented Alistair. “And Nottingham continues to attract not just the most promising students from around the world, but increasingly businesses who are relocating staff and creating new jobs in and around the city.”
In addition to the region’s achievements, Deloitte in the Midlands is also predicting another year of consecutive growth. Whilst Alistair is proud of the firm’s success, and looking to continue its growth, he is also firmly focused on the team of people that make up the Nottingham practice, both now and in the future.
“Key to sustained success is investment in people. We have to continue to attract and retain the best talent. For the former, it’s ensuring a variety of routes are open, such as our fantastic BrightStart scheme for school leavers, for which I’ve already secured support to double our intake.
“For the latter, it’s about providing the opportunities and support for top talent to progress. That’s something that we are particularly good at in Nottingham, with lots of progression across our service line teams and I look forward to announcing a number of promotions after the summer.”
Pauline Biddle, Practice Senior Partner for Deloitte in the Midlands, concluded:
“We are very fortunate that in Alistair we have someone that combines breadth and longevity of experience with areas of in-depth industry specialism. He has built up enviable respect across his clients, peers and those individuals – whether in the Midlands or across our global network – with whom he works.”
Alistair succeeds Neil Cruickshanks, who successfully led the Nottingham practice for Deloitte for four years, and who has stepped down in order to take a sabbatical.
