Love Business East Midlands 2012 hailed as massive success
The first Love Business East Midlands event held at Donington Park on 14th February attracted 1,367 visitors and exhibition space was sold out within two weeks of being released!
Love Business East Midlands comprises ‘like minded’ organisations who have pledged to work together to inspire the business community and highlight the many successes within the East Midlands region. Open to businesses of all sizes, it also provides a forum where they can share expertise. Among the businesses who attended the Donington Park event were RBS, Breedon Aggregates, accountants Grant Thornton and the Federation of Small Businesses.

Stephen Megson, Managing Director of Leicestershire-based marketing agency Quiet Storm, conceived the idea as a way of harnessing the passion of fellow businesses leaders in a way that would be inspirational and beneficial to regional organisations.
He said: “Love Business East Midlands has enabled us to bring together a dynamic group of business leaders from around 25 partner organisations which include major corporations, universities, government organisations and successful SME’s. Our first event was a resounding success, not just because of the volume of delegates but because of the quality of the advice on offer and the connections that were made on the day. Comments were made about the tremendous buzz in the exhibition hall and the pace of the event. As well as encouraging and inspiring businesses the aim is to offer solid support and advice. We will be living in this current economic landscape for the next decade and the businesses that can buy into that are the ones that can succeed.

Mick Barham, Managing Director of Central Construction Services said: “These are unprecedented times, but there are still sectors doing really well and sectors that have been through tough times and stabilised. Quiet Storm worked closely with Donington Park race track and audio-visual/exhibition specialists The Conference Works to stage the event. The event provided valuable networking opportunities as well as a wealth of advice and support which included a funding offer which delegates could apply for on the day. Keynote speakers included Craig Spence from the International Paralympic Committee, bestselling author and business expert Geoff Burch and award winning entrepreneur and former ‘Dragon’ Rachel Elnaugh.
